Rijeka Airport (RJK): Rijeka is the closest mainland airport with seasonal and year‑round connections. From RJK take a shuttle or taxi to Rijeka (about 30-45 minutes) and then a bus south toward Cres/Lošinj; total travel to Mali Lošinj takes roughly 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections and ferry timing.
Lošinj Airport (LSZ) / Mali Lošinj airfield: Mali Lošinj has a small local airport used for seasonal and charter flights; scheduled commercial service is limited-check seasonally for direct flights. If available, the airport is a short taxi ride into town (10-20 minutes).
Train: There is no direct mainland rail link to Mali Lošinj; the nearest mainline stations are in Rijeka or Pula. From those stations you continue by bus and a short ferry crossing (Brestova-Porozina on Cres is the common route) or by road across the island bridges-expect combined travel of 1.5-3 hours from Rijeka.
Bus & ferry: The usual public route is by bus to Brestova (on the Istrian/Cres ferry route), ferry to Porozina (Cres) and then a drive across Cres and the Osor channel to Lošinj. Bus+ferry legs are timed together in summer; passenger fares for the short car ferry Brestova-Porozina are modest (a few dozen HRK) and local bus fares for the island legs are low.
