How to Get to Mairiporã
Mairiporã sits north of São Paulo and is best reached by road from São Paulo's airports or bus terminals. There is no direct commuter rail service, so buses or taxis complete the journey.
São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU) and Congonhas (CGH): Mairiporã is part of Greater São Paulo; most long-distance visitors arrive at GRU or CGH. From either airport, take a taxi or ride-hail into São Paulo and then a regional bus from Tietê terminal or from northern bus terminals toward Mairiporã. Direct taxi transfers from GRU to Mairiporã take around 40-70 minutes depending on traffic (approx. R$120-260).
Nearby domestic airports: For some regional routes travelers may use CGH for domestic flights and then move by road to Mairiporã.
Train: Mairiporã is not served by CPTM commuter rail directly. The nearest CPTM/metro stations are in neighbouring municipalities; you will typically combine metro/CPTM into northern São Paulo with a bus or taxi for the final leg.
Bus: EMTU and municipal bus services connect São Paulo (Tietê) and other northern terminals to Mairiporã; buses are the standard public option for commuters and regional travellers. Journey times vary with traffic (typically 40-90 minutes from central São Paulo).
