Luzhniki Stadium is Russia’s largest sports stadium, located in the Luzhniki sports complex in Moscow. The current main arena dates from a mid-20th-century construction and was comprehensively renovated between 2013 and 2017.

The stadium’s large bowl and modernised facilities are used for football, athletics and large concerts, with a seating capacity of roughly 80,000 after renovation. It is the primary venue for national-level sporting events in Moscow and has hosted major international fixtures.

Luzhniki stands on the Moskva River within Moscow city limits, in the southwestern part of the city, and forms the centrepiece of the Luzhniki sports complex.

Luzhniki Stadium (Moscow) is well served by public transit. The Moscow Central Circle has a Luzhniki stop close to the stadium, and the Moscow Metro stations Sportivnaya and Vorobyovy Gory (on the Sokolnicheskaya/Line 1 corridor) are within a 10-20 minute walk of the venue.

By car the stadium sits on the western bank of the Moskva River southwest of central Moscow; it is reachable from central Moscow via Kutuzovsky Prospekt or Leninsky Prospekt (roughly 6-8 km from Red Square depending on route). There is on-site and nearby parking for events, but public transit is usually the fastest option.

• Use the nearest Metro stations (Sportivnaya or Vorobyovy Gory) and follow the entry gate printed on your ticket-security checks can create bottlenecks so arrive earlier than you might expect for a stadium this size.
• If you want stadium access without an event, book an official Luzhniki stadium tour in advance; tours often include areas (museums, VIP zones) regular ticket holders don't see.
• After events, use the less crowded exits toward Luzhniki Park or Sparrow Hills to avoid the biggest flows of people heading straight to the metro.
