How to Get to Lu Bagnu
Lu Bagnu (north Sardinia) is best reached via Alghero airport or by rail/bus via Sassari. Regional ARST buses handle the last leg; renting a car is handy for exploring nearby coves and villages.
Alghero‑Fertilia (AHO): Alghero’s airport is the closest international airport for Lu Bagnu (about 40-50 minutes by road). Taxis from AHO to Lu Bagnu typically cost around €60-€90 and take ~40-50 minutes. There are also car‑hire desks at the airport if you prefer to drive.
Olbia Costa Smeralda (OLB): Olbia is farther (around 1.5-2 hours by car via the SS131 and SP road network). Driving from Olbia takes roughly 1.5-2 hours; buses and combined rail+bus options are available but take longer and require a connection in Sassari or other towns.
Train: Sassari is the nearest significant rail hub (Sassari station). Regional trains and local services connect Sassari with Porto Torres and other parts of Sardinia; travellers commonly take rail to Sassari then change to bus for Lu Bagnu/Castelsardo.
