Louvre Abu Dhabi is a universal museum on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, opened in 2017 and designed by architect Jean Nouvel. It presents a cross-cultural collection of art and objects spanning human history and aims to show connections across civilizations.

The museum is most notable for its large perforated dome and the sequence of indoor and outdoor galleries beneath it, with a museum plaza and waterways that integrate architecture and landscape. Exhibitions combine loans and displays across periods, drawing visitors for both the building and the displays.

The project was developed through an international cultural partnership and the museum opened to the public in November 2017. Since opening it has hosted temporary and permanent exhibitions and cultural programming on Saadiyat Island.

• By public transport/taxi: taxis and Department of Transport buses connect Abu Dhabi island to Saadiyat; there are also museum shuttle services and dedicated parking on Saadiyat. Check Abu Dhabi Department of Transport or the museum website for current bus routes and visitor shuttles.

• Book a timed ticket and arrive at opening (or late afternoon) to avoid coach peaks; timed entries control visitor flow and the museum can feel crowded at midday.
• If you want to photograph the 'rain of light' created by the dome, plan your visit around midday when sunlight enhances the dome's perforated pattern; otherwise visit early for quieter galleries.
