South of central Ankara, Lake Eymir sits inside a managed greenbelt with looped cycling and jogging tracks, rowing clubs and picnic areas used by locals and visitors seeking quick outdoor recreation.
Lake Eymir is an artificial lake located south of central Ankara in Turkey and is managed by the Middle East Technical University (METU). The lake and its immediate surroundings serve as a recreational and research area linked to the university.
A lakeside path and open spaces attract walkers, joggers and cyclists, and the area is used for informal boating and birdwatching. Facilities and access are provided through METU’s management rather than as a municipal park.
The lake was created artificially and later integrated into METU’s campus and land management for both leisure and scientific use. It functions as a local green space and a study site for environmental research.
Geographically it lies to the south of central Ankara in Ankara Province, adjacent to university lands and accessible from the city.

From central Ankara, take the Metro to Bilkent and either walk (20-30 minutes) or take a short taxi/bus ride; the lake is adjacent to Bilkent University and clearly signposted from major roads.
