Labuhan Lalang Travel Guide

Labuhan Lalang is a pretty place on the extreme northwest of Bali. It is ideal for those looking for a quieter place to stay and for divers, but is a bit of a trek for a day trip from the main southern beaches of Bali.

Labuhan Lalang has a nice long jetty and a bit of a marina stocked with boats for divers out to nearby Nusa Menjangan. Its setting on the sea with the mountains of nearby West Bali National Park looking on is idyllic, which is probably why so many luxury resorts have set up here.

There is also a mangrove forest to explore near to the jetty along with a temple and a coffee shop. The road into Labuhan Lalang is pretty rough and it’s a bit of a journey from Kuta and Denpasar.

Getting There & Away

Labuhan Lalang is a good 3 or 4 hours from the busy southern resorts and from Denpasar. The route goes via the center of the island and through Mengwi and Seririt on the north coast. The southern coastal road is another option. Ngurah Rai International Airport is the Bali gateway, a 3-hour drive southeast. You can also get in from the East Java port of Banyuwangi to Gilimanuk.
