For travel beyond the capital region, Osh International Airport (OSS) is another key hub, serving Osh, an ancient southern Silk Road city around Sulaiman-Too. Issyk-Kul International Airport (IKU) matters for access to Issyk-Kul, the vast alpine lake region with beaches and hot springs, and it can also support trips toward Karakol, a trekking hub near glaciers, a wooden mosque and a Sunday market. In the south, Batken Airport supports the Batken border region gateway to remote southern ranges, while Jalal-Abad Airport covers Jalal-Abad.
