Küre Mountains National Park is a protected mountain area in northern Turkey’s Black Sea region, located in Kastamonu Province and designated to conserve the region’s forests and karst landscapes.
The park contains rugged mountain terrain with dense native forests, steep valleys and limestone formations including caves and gorges. It is used for hiking, nature observation and studying regional biodiversity rather than intensive tourism infrastructure.
The area was given national-park status to protect its ecosystems and traditional rural landscapes and to regulate land use and recreation. Management since designation has focused on conservation of forests and karst features.
The park lies in Kastamonu Province in Turkey’s Black Sea region, occupying parts of the Küre mountain range and remote upland valleys within that provincial area.

The park spans parts of Kastamonu Province. The nearest regional center is Kastamonu city; access is by road via provincial highways toward Pınarbaşı and Azdavay. Local minibuses (dolmuş) run from Kastamonu to villages on the park’s edge; for deeper exploration a car or guided tour is recommended.
