Yedigöller National Park Park

A national park in Bolu Province, Turkey, noted for a group of small lakes set inside a forested mountain landscape; its Turkish name means “Seven Lakes.”

A compact network of lakes and forest trails used for day hiking, picnicking and nature photography, especially during autumn when deciduous forests change color. Facilities include marked paths and basic camping areas that serve local and regional visitors.

The area has been recognized and managed for its natural values since the mid-20th century, with conservation focused on protecting the lakes, surrounding woodland and recreational use.

Located in the forested slopes of Bolu Province in northwestern Turkey, reachable from the regional towns of Bolu and Mudurnu by mountain roads; the park sits in a hilly, heavily wooded landscape.

• Autumn colors: Peak leaf color in autumn typically draws the highest number of visitors for photography and short hikes.
• Lake origins: Some of the lakes were formed by landslides and natural damming, producing distinct shorelines and shallow basins.

What to See#

• Seven lakes cluster: A dispersed cluster of small lakes and tarns set within mixed beech and fir forest; the group is the feature that gives the area its name.
• Trails and picnic sites: Marked footpaths and picnic clearings around the lakes and through the forest, used for day hikes and camping in season.

Yedigöller National Park is in Bolu Province and is normally reached by road from the city of Bolu; the drive from Bolu to the park takes under an hour and is on regional mountain roads (roughly 40-50 km depending on the exact park entrance used). There is no rail direct to the park-most visitors arrive by car or organized bus/tour from Bolu or nearby cities, and final access is by paved and forest roads with short walks inside the park.

• Yedigöller is at its most spectacular in October for autumn colours; if you want fewer people, aim for weekdays early in the morning rather than weekend afternoons when local visitors peak.
• Use marked trails to reach the less-visited lakes - the main lakes and picnic areas fill up first, but short walks along official paths lead to quieter viewpoints where the landscape is best appreciated.
