About Kongsøya#
Kongsøya is an island in the Kong Karls Land group of the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. It is remote and uninhabited and forms part of a cluster of islands used seasonally by large Arctic predators.
The island and surrounding area are noted for their importance to polar bears and other Arctic species; as a result the islands are subject to strict environmental protection and limited access.
