Kom Peak is a mountain in the western Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) in western Bulgaria, standing at approximately 2,016 metres and marking the western terminus of the Kom-Emine ridge route. It is a prominent high point in the range and a known landmark for Bulgarian hikers.

The summit area offers open alpine meadows and panoramic views over adjacent valleys; the peak is typically accessed by marked mountain paths used in summer months. Kom serves as a focal point for ridge walking and regional mountain recreation.

As a natural feature it has no constructed history but has long been part of local mountain travel routes and contemporary long-distance hiking culture in Bulgaria.

Kom sits near the western edge of the Stara Planina within Sofia Province, in the general region north of the Balkan Range foothills and accessible from nearby mountain towns and trailheads.

• Kom-Emine: Forms the western endpoint of the Kom-Emine ridge route, a long-distance mountain trail that runs roughly 650 km to Cape Emine on the Black Sea; Kom is a common start or finish point for that trek.

• Aim for an early-morning start (first light) during late spring-early autumn to get the clearest long-distance views and to avoid afternoon winds and hikers returning from the summit.
• Plan your approach from the nearest marked trailheads in Sofia Province and allow extra time for the mountain roads-local signage is limited, so download the trail map or GPS track in advance.
• Before setting out, check recent trail and weather reports for the Stara Planina area; conditions can change quickly and snow can linger off-season on higher routes, making some paths impassable.
