How to Get to Klis
Klis is a short drive from Split and is most easily reached via Split Airport or Split bus/train station, then a brief bus or taxi ride. The fortress sits above the main road and is accessible from local stops.
Split Airport (SPU): The nearest major airport for Klis (about 20-30 km). From SPU you can take a taxi directly to Klis (≈20-30 minutes, fares roughly HRK 150-250 / €20-€35) or take the airport shuttle to Split and then a local bus or taxi to Klis.
Zadar / Dubrovnik (ZAD/DBV): Alternative airports depending on season and routing, but Split offers the most frequent services and the shortest transfer to Klis.
Train: Split is the nearest major railhead; trains terminate at Split railway station. From Split station or the main bus terminal, use local buses heading inland toward Solin and Klis for the final short hop.
Bus: Regular buses run from Split Bus Station to Klis (and Solin) with journey times around 20-30 minutes; single fares are modest (around HRK 10-20). Taxis are quicker if carrying luggage or arriving late.
