How to Get to Kiryat Ye'arim
Kiryat Ye'arim (Qiryat Yearim) is a hilltop town west of Jerusalem; most visitors arrive via Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and then transfer toward Jerusalem. There is no direct rail service to the town, so the usual route is train into Jerusalem or Tel Aviv then bus or taxi for the final leg.
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): Israel’s main international airport, 35-50 minutes from Jerusalem by train or car. From TLV you can take the high-speed train to Tel Aviv (HaHagana, Savidor Merkaz) or Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon station, then transfer to buses or taxis toward Kiryat Ye’arim; the train to Navon is about 25 minutes (single fares vary by distance and time, typically ~NIS 8-20).
Ovda/ Eilat (VDA)/ Ramon (ETM): These southern airports are not practical for reaching Kiryat Ye’arim; most international visitors will arrive via TLV.
Train: There is no direct train to Kiryat Ye’arim. The nearest major rail hub is Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon station (on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem line). From Navon you can use Egged or local bus services or a taxi to cover the remaining 15-25 minutes to Kiryat Ye’arim.
Bus: Egged and other regional bus companies serve routes from Jerusalem and Modi’in toward communities on the western Jerusalem hills. Buses from Jerusalem’s Central Bus Station or the Navon/Light Rail interchanges to stops near Abu Ghosh/Mevaseret are the normal public options; final leg often requires a short taxi.
