How to Get to Kirtipur
Kirtipur sits just southwest of central Kathmandu and is easiest reached from Tribhuvan International Airport by taxi or from Kathmandu by microbus. The town is compact and best explored on foot once there.
Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM): Kirtipur is a short drive from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). From KTM you can take a taxi directly to Kirtipur (about 20-40 minutes depending on traffic); shared taxis and airport transfers are also common.
Domestic airports: Domestic flights to other Nepali destinations arrive at KTM or nearby regional airports; Kathmandu is the usual starting point for reaching Kirtipur.
Train: Nepal does not have a widespread passenger rail network serving Kathmandu; rail is not a typical option for reaching Kirtipur.
