Tuna el‑Gebel and surrounding sites are reached from Minya city by road-approximately 15-20 km west of Minya across the river. Local minibuses and taxis run from Minya; private car or guided tour is recommended to see multiple sites in one visit.

- Combine a visit with nearby Tuna el‑Gebel (Tuna el‑Gabal) sites-Petosiris' tomb and the falcon cemetery are very close and often overlooked together.
- Bring sun protection and sturdy shoes: much of the site is open desert and shaded areas are sparse.
