Best Time to Visit Kajiado #

Kajiado's best wildlife viewing typically falls in the dry months when animals gather around water. The long rains (March-May) make the land lush but muddy; short rains refresh the bush with fewer visitors.

Long Rains
March - May · 16°C - 27°C (61°F - 81°F)
Heavy March-May rains make rangelands lush but muddy, limiting some wildlife viewing; great for birding and seeing newborn livestock if roads remain passable.
Short Rains
October - December · 18°C - 26°C (64°F - 79°F)
Briefer showers revive the bush and reduce dust; expect afternoon storms but excellent light for photography and fewer tourists on the plains.
Dry Season
January - February & June - September · 18°C - 32°C (64°F - 90°F)
Long stretches of dry weather concentrate wildlife around remaining water points-best for game viewing and dusty, dramatic sunsets; bring sun protection and water.
