Kailashnath Mahadev Statue

Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is a large outdoor statue of the Hindu god Shiva located at Sanga in Bagmati Province, Nepal. It is noted as one of the tallest Shiva statues in the world.

The site’s main attraction is the large seated Shiva figure itself, which stands on a raised plinth and can be viewed from paved terraces and steps around the base. Visitors also use the terraces for panoramic views over the surrounding valley and the nearby town area.

The statue was erected in the early 21st century as a devotional monument and local landmark. It functions as both a place of worship and a tourist attraction, drawing visitors for religious observance and for the scale of the sculpture.

The statue sits beside the Araniko Highway at Sanga, on the eastern outskirts of the Kathmandu urban area in Bagmati Province, roughly east of central Kathmandu. The site occupies a hilltop position visible from the surrounding approaches.
