How to Get to Jilemnice#
Jilemnice in the Krkonoše foothills is usually reached via Prague (PRG) followed by a train to Turnov or Semily and a short regional bus to the town. There is no direct long-distance rail service into Jilemnice, so expect a two-leg rail+bus journey.
Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG): PRG is the main international gateway. Take the Airport Express (AE) bus or public bus 119 into Prague city centre (AE to Hlavní nádraží costs around 60-100 CZK, 30-35 minutes), then transfer to a ČD regional train to Turnov or Semily. The rail trip Prague-Turnov takes about 1-1.5 hours; onward local buses connect to Jilemnice.
Ostrava / Pardubice (regional airports): These regional airports see limited services and are farther away; for most international visitors Prague is the practical arrival point.
Train: Jilemnice does not have a direct national rail connection; the nearest mainline stations are Turnov and Semily (served by České dráhy). From Prague Hlavní nádraží to Turnov is about 1-1.5 hours by regional/fast train; fares commonly range in the low hundreds of CZK depending on discounts.
