How to Get to Jiazi#

Jiazi in Guangdong is best reached by regional rail or intercity coach from larger transport hubs such as Jieyang/Chaoshan, Shantou or Guangzhou. Last-mile travel is normally by taxi or county bus.

By Air

Shantou Chaoyang Airport (SWA) / Jieyang Chaoshan (SWA part regional): For Jiazi (Guangdong) the closest airports are Chaoshan (served as Jieyang/Chaoshang area) or Guangzhou/Shenzhen for larger international connections. Road transfer from airports to local county towns ranges from one to several hours.

Guangzhou / Shenzhen airports: These are the major international gateways if you need more flight choices; expect longer onward rail or road travel into eastern Guangdong.

By Train & Bus

Train: Use the regional rail network to reach the nearest county or city station; from there, local buses or taxis provide the final connection to Jiazi.

Bus: Intercity and county-level buses are common for routes between towns in Guangdong and are often the most direct option when high-speed trains do not stop close by.

How to Get Around Jiazi#

Combine fast rail to a nearby hub with a short coach or taxi transfer for the most efficient travel to Jiazi. In smaller towns, intercity coaches often offer the most direct service.

  • High-speed rail (CNY 40-200) - Use high-speed trains between major Guangdong cities to get to a nearby station, then transfer by bus or taxi. They are fast and comfortable for longer hops.
  • Intercity bus (CNY 10-80) - Frequent buses connect county towns and smaller cities within Guangdong; coaches often provide direct links when rail stations are not handy.
  • Conventional rail (CNY 15-100) - Conventional trains stop at more local stations and can be useful for overnight or budget travel to county centres.
  • Taxi / ride-hailing (CNY 10-150) - Taxis and Didi rides are convenient for short transfers from stations and to reach specific village locations; confirm fare estimates in advance for longer trips.
  • Local minivan / bus (CNY 2-30) - Minivans and local buses serve rural routes and are often the cheapest way to reach the last mile; schedules are informal in some areas so ask locally.
  • Walking - Village centres are usually compact; walking is the best way to explore local markets and short distances.
