Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Xueshan) is a mountain massif north of Lijiang in Yunnan province, China, notable for its high, glaciated peaks and cultural significance to local Naxi people. The range contains several peaks, with the highest summit commonly given as about 5,596 metres.

Tourist facilities include a scenic area with roads, cable-car access and viewing platforms that allow visitors to reach high viewpoints and areas historically occupied by small glaciers. The site is popular for its panoramic mountain views from Lijiang and for short high-altitude excursions, though glacier extent has declined in recent decades.

If driving yourself, follow the main roads north out of Lijiang toward the mountain access roads and parking areas; the attraction is commonly reached by taxi or organized transfer from Lijiang.

Go at first light for the clearest views and the best photography - cloud and fog often build later in the day around the massif, and early cable‑car departures beat tour crowds.
