Mediterranean Coast (Tel Aviv, Haifa, Acre)

July and August are the height of summer - hot, dry and humid at times along the coast, with daytime temperatures regularly in the high 20s to low 30s°C. Sea breezes offer relief but nights can stay warm, and popular beaches, rooftop bars and restaurants are crowded; plan ahead for reservations. Pack light clothing, a swimsuit and stay hydrated; the sea is warm and great for late-afternoon swims but midday sun is intense.

Northern Galilee & Golan Heights (Safed, Tiberias, Mount Hermon)

June is comfortably warm and mostly dry, with low rainfall and long sunny days perfect for boat trips on the Sea of Galilee and hiking the Golan Heights. Mount Hermon is snow-free except at the highest points, and evening breezes offer relief from daytime heat. Travelers should plan outdoor activities early or late in the day to avoid midday sun and pack sun protection and water for longer excursions.

June to August deliver intense desert heat: daytime temperatures routinely reach 35°C or higher across the Negev interior and Eilat frequently exceeds 40°C during heat waves. Water sports, scuba diving and beach time in Eilat are prime, but inland hikes become dangerous without proper preparation. Travelers should avoid midday exertion, carry abundant water, and prefer shaded or air-conditioned accommodations during these months.
