Hussain Sagar is a large man-made lake in the centre of Hyderabad, Telangana, originally constructed in the 16th century to supply water to the city. The lake sits between the twin city areas of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and is a major urban landmark with promenades and parks along its shores.

- For the lake's classical view of the monolithic Buddha, watch sunset from Tank Bund Road or Lumbini Park.
- Take the government-operated boats from the eastern side (near Lumbini Park) rather than private launches - routes are regular and safer.
- Avoid rush-hour roads; Necklace Road can be snarled on weekends and festival days.
