How to Get to High Island Reservoir #
Follow the same directions as for High Island (East Dam): from Sai Kung take local minibus 29R or a taxi to the reservoir area. Driving via Hiram’s Highway and local access roads is also common-check traffic as rural roads are narrow.
Tips for Visiting High Island Reservoir #
- Walk the sealed trails across the dam early in the morning when light and air quality are best.
- Photographers should head to the west side of the reservoir at golden hour for reflective water shots.
- There are limited facilities near the dam-plan food and water accordingly before arrival.
Best Time to Visit High Island Reservoir #
Spring and autumn are the best times to enjoy walks across the dam and the adjacent Geo Trail without the summer heat and rain.
