Giza Zoo is a zoological garden located in the Giza Governorate of Egypt, established in the late 19th century. It is one of the country’s oldest zoological institutions and includes both animal enclosures and botanical displays.

The zoo houses a variety of mammals, birds and reptiles and has historically been a popular urban attraction for families and school groups. Its grounds include tree-lined paths and lawns in an urban setting.

The institution has undergone periods of expansion and renovation since its founding and remains a notable public facility within greater Cairo. The zoo is sited within the urban area of Giza.

Giza Zoo is reachable from central Cairo and Giza by taxi or local public transport; check local routes for the most convenient stops. The zoo lies near other Giza attractions, making it possible to combine visits.

• Bring small change for admissions and local vendor purchases - card machines may not always work reliably.
• Visit the reptile house and aviary early; some animals become inactive in hot afternoon sun.
