How to Get to Fonadhoo

Fonadhoo (Laamu Atoll) is reached by first flying into Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé and then taking a domestic flight to Kadhdhoo (KDO) followed by a short boat transfer to the island. There are no trains; inter-island travel is by speedboat or public ferry.

By Air

Velana International Airport, Malé (MLE): The usual international arrival point is Velana International (MLE). From Malé you connect to Laamu Atoll by scheduled domestic flights to Kadhdhoo (KDO) operated by Maldivian (and other local carriers); the flight is roughly 30-40 minutes. Combined tickets (international + domestic) are commonly sold; domestic fares vary widely by season but expect roughly USD 100-250 one-way when purchased separately.

(No international airport on Laamu Atoll): There is no international airport on Fonadhoo itself - domestic flight to Kadhdhoo plus a short boat transfer is the standard routing.
