Farfa Abbey is a historic Benedictine monastery in the Sabina hills of Lazio near the town of Fara in Sabina. It originated in the early Middle Ages and became an important monastic center in medieval Italy.

Farfa Abbey (Abbazia di Farfa) is in the comune of Fara in Sabina, north of Rome. By car it’s the most convenient option from Rome - the drive is roughly 40-60 km (about 45-75 minutes) via the A1 and regional roads into Sabina; follow signs to Fara in Sabina/Farfa. You can also take regional trains toward Fara Sabina-Montelibreti (the FL1/FL2 regional services serve that station) and then a short taxi or local-bus ride the last few kilometres to the abbey.
