The Fann Mountains are a mountain range in western Tajikistan, forming part of the Pamir-Alay system and noted for high, rugged peaks and glaciated valleys. The range is a significant destination for trekking, climbing, and alpine lake tourism.
The landscape offers steep ridges, high passes and a concentration of clear alpine lakes that attract trekkers and climbers during the summer months. Routes vary from multi-day trekking circuits to technical ascents on the highest peaks.
Modern mountaineering and organized trekking developed in the 20th century; the area remains popular with international and regional climbers. Traditional pastoral use by local communities continues in lower valleys.
Geographically the range runs across western Tajikistan, within Sughd Region and adjoining areas, and lies west of the central Pamirs.
