The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (commonly VDNKh) is a large exhibition complex and public park in north-eastern Moscow. First opened before World War II, it was expanded in the Soviet era and contains a series of ornate pavilions built to showcase agriculture, industry and the cultures of the union republics.
The site includes a Central Pavilion and many national and sectoral pavilions with decorative façades, large halls for displays and an open park with fountains and promenades. A well-known feature is the decorative fountain ensemble set before the main axially arranged pavilions.
VDNKh served as a showcase for Soviet achievements throughout the 20th century; after the Soviet period the complex has undergone restoration and now contains museums, exhibition halls, cultural venues and public gardens.
The exhibition grounds lie in north-eastern Moscow, near the Ostankino television district and are served directly by the VDNKh metro station.

VDNKh is in northeast Moscow along Prospekt Mira. Take the Moscow Metro to VDNKh station (orange line 6, Moscow Metro line 6 is Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya - check current maps) and use the main exits; the park is adjacent to the station. Several bus routes also serve the area.
