Emlembe is the highest mountain in Eswatini, located on the border with South Africa and forming part of the higher ridges on the country’s western flank. It is the national high point of Eswatini.
The summit is a simple mountain ridge offering compact summit terrain rather than glacier or technical climbing; the area is used for local hiking and rural grazing. Views from the top extend across borderlands into South Africa and along the surrounding highlands.
The peak has long marked the frontier between Eswatini and neighbouring South Africa and has been used for local navigation and grazing rather than for historic defensive works. It is primarily of geographic significance as the country’s highest point.
Emlembe sits on the Eswatini-South Africa border in the southern African highlands, accessible from regional roads on either side of the frontier.
