How to Get to El Hamma#

El Hamma (Gabès Governorate) is usually reached by road from regional airports (Djerba or Enfidha/Tunis) or by regional bus services. Louages and regional buses are the practical and budget-friendly way to travel within southern Tunisia.

By Air

Djerba-Zarzis Airport (DJE): Djerba’s airport is a common gateway for southern Tunisia. From Djerba to El Hamma by road is approximately 130-170 km depending on route and takes around 2-3 hours; regular taxi and private-transfer options are available from the airport.

Tunis-Carthage (TUN) / Enfidha (NBE): International arrivals may also come via Tunis or Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE) and continue by road to El Hamma; road travel from Enfidha is several hours. Expect further travel time and arrange transfers in advance.

By Train & Bus

Train: Tunisia’s national rail operator (SNCFT) operates lines in the coastal and some inland regions; the nearest significant rail hub for the area is Gabès.
