Eaton Square

Eaton Square is a garden square in the Belgravia district of central London. It was laid out in the early 19th century as part of the Grosvenor estate and remains one of the city’s grand residential squares.

The square is notable for its long terraces of stucco-fronted houses and a central private communal garden. Many of the surrounding buildings are high-end residences and some premises have diplomatic or institutional uses.

Historically the square was developed during the 1820s as part of the planned expansion of Belgravia by the Grosvenor family, with construction led by builders working for the estate. The layout and architectural character have been preserved; façades and garden plots reflect 19th-century urban design.

Eaton Square sits in the City of Westminster within Belgravia, between Sloane Street and the area around Victoria Station. It is in central London and is accessible on foot from nearby Underground and rail stations.
