How to Get to Dubai Motor City#
Dubai Motor City is a suburban development in Dubai best reached by taxi from Dubai’s airports or by combining the Dubai Metro with a short taxi/bus connection. There’s no dedicated metro stop inside Motor City, so plan a last-mile taxi or bus transfer.
Dubai International Airport (DXB): DXB is the primary international gateway to Dubai Motor City. By taxi it’s typically a 20-40 minute drive depending on traffic; fares are generally in the 50-90 AED range. Ride-hail services and airport transfers are widely available.
Al Maktoum International (DWC): DWC is farther south (and often used for low-cost or charter flights); travel time by road to Dubai Motor City is longer (around 40-60 minutes or more). Taxis and private transfers are the usual options from DWC.
Train / Metro: Dubai Motor City does not have its own Dubai Metro station. The nearest Red Line metro stop is Mall of the Emirates (or stations near Dubai Internet City) and from there a short taxi or bus link will get you into Motor City.
Bus: RTA buses serve the Motor City area with routes that connect to metro stations and other parts of the city. Single-ride fares for RTA buses start at a few dirhams; using a Nol card is required on most public transport.
How to Get Around Dubai Motor City#
Expect to use taxis or a metro-plus-short-transfer combination to reach Dubai Motor City. Public buses are inexpensive for local connections, but the metro does not stop inside the district so the final leg usually requires a taxi or bus.
- Taxi / ride-hail (~40-120 AED (airport to Motor City typical range)) - Metered taxis and ride-hail apps are the most direct way to reach Dubai Motor City from airports and metro stations. They’re convenient for door-to-door travel and widely available across the city.
- Dubai Metro + taxi/bus (Metro + short taxi: ~6-30 AED total depending on distance) - Take the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates or nearby stations, then switch to a short taxi or local bus for the final leg into Motor City. This can avoid heavier road stretches during peak traffic.
- RTA bus (~3-7 AED per trip) - Dubai RTA operates bus routes serving Motor City that connect to metro stations and residential areas. Fares are low (a few dirhams) and Nol cards are required for payment on public transport.
- Car rental (AED 100-300/day (economy car)) - Renting a car gives full flexibility-useful if you plan to explore other parts of Dubai outside of central public-transport corridors. Parking is available within Motor City complexes.
- Walking - Within Motor City residential clusters and retail areas, walking is practical for short trips; however, the development is spread out so many journeys require vehicle use.
