Drakonera Island

Drakonera is a small island in the Ionian Islands region of western Greece, part of the Echinades/Drakonera group of islets. It is one of several low-lying, largely rocky islands that lie off the mainland Aetolia-Acarnania coast.

The island offers natural, rocky coastline and sheltered anchorages used by private boats and local skippers. There are no developed tourist facilities and visits are typically brief stops by boat for scenery, swimming or birdwatching.

Like many small Ionian islets, Drakonera has no major recorded continuous settlement and has been used intermittently for grazing, sheltering boats and seasonal uses rather than permanent habitation. It has remained largely unchanged in character as a small, natural island.

Drakonera lies in the Ionian Sea off western Greece within the archipelago of Echinades islets, positioned near the Aetolia-Acarnania coastline and accessible only by private boat.
