How to Get to Doi Chiang Dao #
Doi Chiang Dao is about 70-80 km north of Chiang Mai city. Drive on Route 107 and local roads toward Chiang Dao town; from there follow signs to the wildlife sanctuary and trailheads. Buses and minibuses run from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao town; from town arrange local transport to trailheads.

- Hire a local guide for the longer trails; the mountain's limestone cliffs and remote trails can be disorienting.
- Start pre-dawn for summit attempts to avoid midday heat and to catch the sunrise over the valley.
- Bring layers: temperatures drop quickly after sunset at higher elevations.
