How to Get to Dhërmi
Dhërmi is best reached overland by car, bus or shuttle from Tirana or by ferry+road from Corfu via Sarandë in summer. Road travel along the Albanian coast is scenic but can be slow; plan extra time for peak season traffic.
Tirana International (TIA): Tirana is the main international gateway to Albania. From Tirana you can travel by bus/van or rental car to the Albanian Riviera area; travel time to Dhërmi is around 4-5 hours by road depending on traffic and route. There are no direct scheduled flights into the south of Albania suitable for Dhërmi.
Corfu International (CFU): Corfu (Greece) is a useful alternative in summer. From Corfu town you can take a ferry to Sarandë (seasonal) and then travel by road to Dhërmi (about 1.5-2.5 hours from Sarandë depending on stops). This cross‑border route is popular in high season - check ferry schedules and passport requirements.
Train: Albania has minimal passenger rail services relevant to the southern Riviera; trains are not a practical option for Dhërmi.
Bus / Shuttle / Minivan: Buses and shared shuttles run from Tirana or Sarandë toward the Albanian Riviera, calling at places such as Himarë and Dhërmi. Overnight or daytime buses from Tirana to Sarandë take approximately 5-7 hours; from Sarandë a local bus or taxi reaches Dhërmi in around 40-90 minutes depending on route and stops. In summer frequency increases and private shuttles are common.
How to Get Around Dhërmi #
Dhërmi is compact along the coastal strip, making it easy to walk between the beach and the main drag. Shared minibuses (furgons) and regional buses connect Dhërmi with Vlorë, Himarë and Sarandë; taxis and scooter rentals are common in summer. In high season services are frequent, but outside the tourist months public transport is much reduced - plan accordingly.
