Danube Bend

The Danube Bend is a pronounced northward curve of the Danube River in northern Hungary where the river sweeps around steep hills near the towns of Visegrád, Vác and Szentendre. It is a well-known scenic and historic stretch of the Danube north of Budapest.

Panoramic views over the river are available from hilltop lookout points and the Visegrád citadel; the area is popular for short hikes, historic sites and panoramic photography. River cruises from Budapest commonly travel up the Danube to showcase the bend and the region’s towns and castles.
