How to Get to Çorovodë
Çorovodë (Skrapar) is best reached by road from Tirana or Berat; there is no direct rail access. Regional buses and minibuses plus local taxis provide the connections to the town and nearby canyon attractions.
Tirana Nënë Tereza International Airport (TIA): The main international airport for Albania. From TIA you can take a bus or minibus toward Berat and then a local bus/taxi to Çorovodë; Tirana→Çorovodë total travel time is typically 2-3 hours depending on connections. Airport→Tirana city transfers are ~20-30 minutes (≈200-300 ALL / €1.5-3).
Corfu International Airport (CFU): For visitors combining Ionian island travel and Albania, CFU offers ferries to Sarandë and other ports; however CFU→Çorovodë requires a long land transfer through southern Albania (not the most direct route).
Train: Albania’s rail network does not serve Çorovodë. There is no reliable passenger rail connection to the town.
Bus: Buses and minibuses to Çorovodë run from Berat and from larger hubs (Tirana, Fier) - typical route is Tirana→Berat (≈2 hours, ~ALL 500-1,000 / €4-8) then Berat→Çorovodë by local bus or taxi (≈30-60 minutes, small local fare). Local departures are irregular; ask at the Berat bus station for the latest connections.
How to Get Around Çorovodë #
Çorovodë is a small town that can be explored on foot, with most sights and services clustered in the centre. Buses connect it with Berat and other regional centres; taxis and private transfers are available but not frequent. To reach outdoor attractions like the Osum Canyon and surrounding gorges, a car or hired driver is the most practical option. Carry cash and plan transport in advance during off-season.
