Ciamis is reached primarily by road from Bandung, Kertajati or Jakarta; rail travel brings you to nearby towns (Tasikmalaya, Banjar) with onward minibuses. For convenience use a private transfer from Bandung or Kertajati, while budget travellers use buses and angkots.

By Air

Halim Perdanakusuma (HLP) / Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) / Kertajati (KJT): Ciamis does not have a commercial airport; the nearest major airports are Bandung (Husein Sastranegara, BDO) and Kertajati International (KJT) near Majalengka. From Bandung it is about 2-3 hours by road to Ciamis, depending on traffic; private transfers cost IDR 300,000-700,000. From Kertajati travel time by car is around 1.5-2.5 hours with similar taxi rates.

Local airports: If flying into Jakarta, factor in a 4-6 hour road transfer or a domestic flight to Bandung and then a road transfer to Ciamis.
