Christoffelpark is Curaçao’s largest protected natural area, encompassing rugged hills, dry forest and coastal zones and including the island’s highest point, Mount Christoffel.
Visitors come for hiking on marked trails, wildlife and plant observation, and to climb to the summit for wide coastal views; the Savonet house within the park provides interpretation and visitor information.
The area was designated and managed to conserve native flora and fauna and to protect historic plantation sites; conservation and visitor infrastructure have been developed to balance access and protection.
The park lies on the northwestern portion of Curaçao, several kilometres northwest of Willemstad, and is accessed by paved roads from the island’s main towns.
