How to Get to Cerrillos, Uruguay
Cerrillos (Canelones) is reached most easily by road from Montevideo. Carrasco Airport (MVD) is the main international gateway; from there and from Montevideo city you use suburban and intercity buses or taxis to get into Canelones.
Carrasco International Airport (MVD): Montevideo’s Carrasco is the main international airport serving the Canelones area. From Carrasco you can take a taxi or bus to Montevideo city centre (30-50 minutes) and then long‑distance or suburban buses toward Canelones Department. A direct taxi from Carrasco to Cerrillos is possible but can be relatively expensive.
Carrasco/Montevideo (domestic connections): There are no significant domestic airports serving Cerrillos directly; road connections from Montevideo are the usual way to arrive.
Train: Uruguay’s passenger rail service is very limited and does not reliably serve suburban Canelones towns; trains are not the standard option to reach Cerrillos.
