Central African Republic has one airport with scheduled commercial service, and most international travelers arrive through Bangui M’Poko International Airport (BGF). It is the country’s primary gateway and its only international airport, and it is also the only major airport handling high volumes of traffic.
With no other airports on scheduled commercial service, domestic flying has a limited role in most itineraries. Travel beyond Bangui typically continues overland or via organized transfers, including trips from Bangui & Oubangui toward places such as Boali, Mbaïki, and the remote Dzanga-Sangha area, where Bayanga serves as a base for visits to Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve and nearby rainforest parks.
