How to Get to Causeway Bay
Causeway Bay is on Hong Kong Island and is best reached via Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) with a quick transfer by Airport Express + MTR, or by direct airport buses. Once in Causeway Bay the MTR, trams and buses provide the fastest ways to get around.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG): The Airport Express runs from HKG to Hong Kong Station in about 24 minutes; adult one-way fares to Hong Kong Station are HK$115 (standard fare). From Hong Kong Station take the MTR (Island Line / interchange) to Causeway Bay (two MTR stops by paid transfer), total airport-to-Causeway-Bay journey around 35-45 minutes depending on connections.
Airport bus (e.g., A11 / A12): Several Citybus/NWFB routes serve Hong Kong Island and drop near Causeway Bay or neighbouring Wan Chai; journey time is typically 35-60 minutes depending on traffic and most single fares are in the HK$40-50 range (check the operator for current fares).
MTR (Island Line): Causeway Bay station (MTR) sits on the Island Line with frequent trains to Central, Admiralty and other east-west stops; a single MTR ride within the urban area is usually HK$5-HK$15 depending on distance and payment method (Octopus card is cheapest).
Tram / Bus / Ferry: The historic double-decker tram (the ‘ding ding’) runs along Hennessy Road and is useful for short hops in Causeway Bay - a single tram fare is a flat, low fare (cashless Octopus preferred). Numerous franchised bus routes and cross-harbour ferries (to/from Central/Wan Chai) make short journeys around the island quick and inexpensive.
