How to Get to Cam Ranh#
Cam Ranh is served directly by Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) and by the North-South railway (Cam Ranh station). For most visitors, a short taxi or shuttle from the airport into Cam Ranh town or nearby Nha Trang is the simplest option.
Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR): The main airport serving Cam Ranh and Nha Trang. From the terminal you can take shuttle buses or private transfer services into Cam Ranh and Nha Trang; typical transfer time to central Nha Trang is about 30-45 minutes by car.
(Other airports): For visitors coming from farther afield you might arrive via Hanoi (HAN) or Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and connect to a domestic flight into CXR.
Train: Cam Ranh has a station on Vietnam’s North-South railway; local trains call at Cam Ranh and Nha Trang station is nearby (Nha Trang is about 10-15 km north). Train travel is a convenient option for coastal travel along the route.
Bus: Airport shuttle buses, private shuttles and local buses run between Cam Ranh airport, Cam Ranh town and Nha Trang. Shuttle buses into Nha Trang commonly take around 40-60 minutes depending on stops.
How to Get Around Cam Ranh#
Use the airport shuttle or a taxi to connect between CXR and Cam Ranh/Nha Trang; the North-South railway is a solid alternative for coastal travel. Within the area, taxis, motorbike taxis and occasional local buses handle most short trips.
- Shuttle bus (airport) (60,000-150,000 VND) - Shared and private shuttle buses run between Cam Ranh Airport and Nha Trang or Cam Ranh town. They are cheaper than taxis and timed to flight arrivals; travel to Nha Trang typically takes 30-50 minutes depending on traffic and number of stops.
- Taxi / private transfer (300,000-450,000 VND) - Taxis and private car transfers provide a faster, door-to-door service from the airport to Cam Ranh or Nha Trang. They are convenient if you have luggage or arrive late, and will be noticeably quicker than shared shuttles.
- North-South railway (train) (20,000-120,000 VND) - Cam Ranh station is on Vietnam’s main rail line; trains to Nha Trang and beyond are frequent. Train travel is scenic and reliable for intercity travel along the coast-useful if you prefer surface travel to flying.
- Local bus (10,000-30,000 VND) - Local buses link Cam Ranh town, the airport and surrounding communes; they are the cheapest option but slower and less comfortable with luggage. Useful for short hops if you’re travelling light.
- Motorbike taxi (xe ôm) / GrabBike (30,000-100,000 VND) - For short trips inside Cam Ranh and to nearby beaches a motorbike taxi can be fast and cheap. Good for solo travellers without large luggage; always agree a price or use a metered/app service where available.
- Walking - Cam Ranh town centre and beach areas are walkable for short distances; however, many sights are spread out so you’ll often use taxis or bikes for longer hops.
