Cabo Rojo is best reached by air via Ponce (PSE) or San Juan (SJU) followed by road travel; there is no passenger rail service on the island. Rental car or taxi is the most practical way to arrive and move around the area.

By Air

Mercedita Airport, Ponce (PSE): The closest commercial airport to Cabo Rojo on Puerto Rico’s south-west coast. From PSE you can rent a car or take a taxi to Cabo Rojo (typical taxi fare USD 35-60, journey about 30-50 minutes). Car rental desks operate at the airport.

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, San Juan (SJU): San Juan is the main international gateway. Driving to Cabo Rojo from SJU takes roughly 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic; car rental or private transfer is the most practical option (one-way car-rental/transfer costs vary widely-expect USD 60+ for transfers).

By Train & Bus
