Bulgarian St. Stephen Church Religious Site

The Bulgarian St. Stephen Church is a small, prefabricated metal church located on the Golden Horn in the Balat neighborhood of Istanbul. It is widely known for its cast-iron construction and ornate metalwork, which give it the informal name the Iron Church.

The building was completed in the late 19th century to serve the Bulgarian Orthodox community in the city and stands as a rare example of a prefabricated metal ecclesiastical building. Its façade and interior reflect late 19th century design applied to metal construction techniques.
