Airlines of Bulgaria

Bulgaria Air is Bulgaria’s flag carrier and the main full-service airline based in the country. With Bulgaria’s primary gateway at Sofia Airport (SOF), flying tends to center on Sofia for international arrivals and departures, with domestic air travel limited in scope.

Air VIA is another Bulgaria-based passenger airline. For low-cost flights, Wizz Air Hungary operates passenger services that can be useful for budget travelers flying into and out of Bulgaria. Along the Black Sea coast, Varna Airport (VAR) and Burgas Airport (BOJ) are key airports for scheduled commercial service, while Plovdiv International Airport (PDV) provides another option for reaching Plovdiv by air.
