Bükk is a limestone mountain range in northern Hungary and the core area of Bükk National Park, noted for extensive forests, karst plateaus and cave systems. The uplands form part of the North Hungarian Mountains and contain some of the country’s most significant karst landscape and woodland.
Outdoor activities include walking, caving and nature study; the region contains numerous marked trails, several show caves and rural villages on the lower slopes. The park protects both geological features and native forest ecosystems.
The Bükk range lies in northern Hungary near the city of Eger and forms a well known recreational and conservation area in the country’s uplands.
