The Brontë Parsonage Museum is the historic home of the Brontë family in Haworth, West Yorkshire, preserved as a museum devoted to the lives and works of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë. The house contains a major collection of manuscripts, letters and personal effects.

Period rooms that recreate the domestic environment of the Brontë family, curated exhibition galleries that display manuscripts and personal items, and interpretive displays about the sisters’ writing and lives. The museum also organizes talks, events and research resources through the Brontë Society.

The house served as the family parsonage for Patrick Brontë and was the primary home of the Brontë siblings during the 19th century when they produced their principal literary works. The property was preserved and opened as a museum to conserve their manuscripts and personal history.

The parsonage stands in the village of Haworth in West Yorkshire, adjacent to the moorland that features in many Brontë works and within easy reach of local towns such as Keighley.

By train: Keighley station (on the Airedale line) is the nearest regular rail stop; from Keighley take the 500 bus or a short taxi (approx. 10-15 minutes) to Haworth village. By car: Follow A629/A6033 toward Haworth; limited parking in village car parks (signed).

• Visit early or late in the day to hear the village bell and avoid school groups; the household rooms are small and feel crowded at midday.
• Look for the faded ink marks and scuff marks on the parsonage stairs - visitors over generations have leaned on the same rails.
• Spend time in the museum shop for facsimile manuscripts and scholarly editions; the archives occasionally open for special viewings and require advance booking.
