How to Get to Braggio#
Braggio (Grisons) is in a mountain valley of Graubünden and is best reached via Swiss rail to Chur or Sargans then by regional PostBus/taxi for the final, often scenic mountain leg. Swiss public transport is reliable but may require precise connections for small villages.
Zurich Airport (ZRH): Zurich is the main international gateway for Graubünden/Grisons; from Zurich Airport you can take a train to Chur or Sargans and continue by regional connections to reach Braggio. Train from Zürich to Chur takes about 1.5-2 hours.
Milan / Lugano (Italy) and regional Swiss airports: Depending on your origin, Milan Malpensa or Lugano can also be used; overland rail connections into Graubünden then continue by regional buses or local roads to Braggio (in the Calanca/Grisons area).
Train: Switzerland’s rail network serves Chur and Sargans as major regional hubs. From Chur you travel by regional train and bus combinations toward the Val Calanca/Calanca valley area to reach Braggio; total travel time from Zurich is typically 2-3 hours depending on connections.
Bus: PostBus and regional services operate through the Calanca valley; the final leg to Braggio is likely a PostBus route or a short taxi from the nearest rail-linked village. Check the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and PostBus timetables for exact connections.
How to Get Around Braggio#
Braggio is best reached by international flight to Zurich (or Milan) then SBB rail to Chur or Sargans and a PostBus/taxi for the final mountain approach. Swiss timetables are reliable - plan connections, especially for late arrivals.
- International flight to Zurich / Milan (CHF 100+ (international varies)) - Fly into Zurich for the most frequent international connections; from Zurich Airport follow rail links to Chur and onward by regional services. Milan can be an alternative depending on routing, but overland connections add time.
- SBB to Chur / Sargans (CHF 20-60) - Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) run frequent services to Chur and Sargans, which are the main rail gateways into Graubünden. From there use regional trains or buses to reach the valleys; trains are punctual and comfortable.
- PostBus regional services (CHF 2-15) - PostBus provides the local bus network serving mountain villages. Services are reliable but timetables can be sparse in off-peak hours - coordinate connections carefully, especially in winter when services may be reduced.
- Taxi / Local transfer (CHF 20-80) - Taxis or pre-arranged private transfers are useful for the final uphill leg if bus schedules don’t match your arrival. Expect higher costs for mountain road distances.
- Car rental (CHF 50-120 per day) - Renting a car gives flexibility for remote valleys and scenic roads; Swiss roads are well maintained but mountain driving requires care. Parking in small villages is generally straightforward.
- Walking - Braggio and neighbouring villages are compact and best explored on foot; trails link hamlets and offer mountain views. Bring suitable footwear for steep or uneven terrain.
